Overview
The Linear DNT00068 Gate Safety Edge Transmitter (Model MGT) provides fully supervised obstacle sensing for motorized gates, doors, or barrier arms within a Linear access control system. The MGT mounts directly on the gate, door, or barrier and wires to a standard exterior safety edge sensor. For full-featured compatibility, a Miller gate edge sensor with an optional .001 uF capacitor is recommended. When an object is struck during gate closing, the sensor presents a closed circuit across the connecting wires, prompting the MGT to transmit a message to the access controller to reverse gate movement.
What sets the MGT apart is its automatic hourly status report to the access controller, confirming battery condition and operational status. If the edge sensor is disconnected, shorted, or tampered with, the MGT reports a trouble condition. The transmitter is housed in a weather-resistant fiberglass enclosure with a moisture-resistant coated circuit board, mounted via sealed interior screws.
