BD Loops WATER TIGHT SPLICE KIT
Water-tight splice kit for repairing or extending loop lead-in wire. Direct-burial-rated, double-walled adhesive-lined shrink tubing protects connections from moisture and corrosion.
The BD Loops Splice Kit is a water-tight splice kit for repairing damaged lead-in wire or extending (splicing on) additional lead-in run on BD Loops Preformed 3/16” Saw-Cut Loops. It comes packed with direct-burial-rated, double-walled adhesive-lined shrink tubing that is layered to make a durable, watertight seal that protects connections from moisture and corrosion.
Kit Includes
- (1) 6”, 1/2” adhesive-lined shrink tube
- (1) 4”, 1/2” adhesive-lined shrink tube
- (2) 3/16” adhesive-lined shrink tubes
- (3) pieces of glue tape
Tools required (not included): soldering iron and solder, plus a heat gun or blowtorch (a heat gun is preferred, as it is less likely to overheat the wire and shrink tubing).
Note: Splicing should only be done on the lead-in. If the loop itself is damaged, it is better to install a new preformed loop.
