Northstar Controls NP2-LM Loop Detector

Overview

The Northstar Controls NP2-LM is a plug-in compatible loop detector designed for use with LiftMaster operators. It offers front panel DIP switch selections for sensitivity and frequency, a front panel reset for hard resets, and a fail-secure detect output that does not trigger on loss of power.

Key Features

• Sensitivity Control: Four settings (Low, Med. Low, Med. High, High) selected via front panel DIP switches 5 and 6. Factory default is Medium Low (setting 1).
• Frequency Control: Four separate frequency settings (High, Medium High, Medium Low, Low) selected via front panel DIP switches 1 and 2. Factory default is High frequency.
• Sensitivity Boost: Automatic during detect, except at the highest sensitivity setting (3).
• Presence Time Options: Switch A ON = 15 min presence time; Switch A OFF = 60 min presence time.
• Permanent Presence: Switch B ON enables permanent presence mode.
• Fail-Secure Output: Loss of power does not cause a detect output to be placed.
• Supply Voltage Protection: Incorrect voltage will not damage the unit; no fuses need to be reset.
• Front Panel Indicators: Blue Power/Fault LED (solid = power OK; single flash = open circuit loop; double flash = shorted loop) and White Detect LED (solid during detect).
• Connector: 9-pin input connector; separate 2-pin output connector (Signal red wire, Common black wire).
